Cost of Poverty Experience-Simulation for Educators & Service Providers

KCSOS Foster & Homeless Education Program is hosting the Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) Simulation this coming Monday afternoon in Bakersfield. The training itself is full (there is an active waitlist), but we are still in need of a few more Resource Table volunteers for the training. The flyer for Monday’s training is attached for more info.

As a Resource Table volunteer, you will run a resource booth throughout the simulation. For example, you may be the clerk at the Mega Mart or the supervisor at the Minimum Wage Employer. The resource table volunteers are critical to ensuring COPE runs smoothly.

If you are interested in being a resource table volunteer, we will provide you a free lunch (a baked potato bar)! 😊 The resource table volunteers need to be at the Larry E. Reider Bldg. at 12pm on Monday until 4PM on Monday. (The simulation itself is from 1:30-4, but there is a short training beforehand.)

If you are willing/able to commit to being a resource table volunteer this coming Monday April 24th from 12PM-4PM, please email my colleague Cynthia Ortiz at cyortiz@kern.org
