Bakersfield-Kern Regional Homeless Collaborative Appoints New Executive Director Rick Ramos

BAKERSFIELD, CA – The Bakersfield-Kern Regional Homeless Collaborative (BKRHC) Executive Board has named Rick Ramos as the new Executive Director of the BKRHC.

Over the last six months, Ramos has held the position of Interim Executive Director while simultaneously occupying his role as Data Analyst. He is a founding member of the BKRHC joining the team in June 2020 as an Administrative Analyst. With a background in quality and process improvement, data analytics, and management, Ramos is well-positioned to lead the BKRHC into continued success.

Ramos will manage all day-to-day operations for BKRHC, which is the 501(c)3 non-profit tasked with leading the Bakersfield/Kern Continuum of Care (CoC) and collaborating with City and County partners, elected officials, homeless service providers, and various community stakeholders to ensure that Kern County has a successful path forward to reducing homelessness.

Ramos is a native of Kern County, growing up in Delano, and experienced firsthand at-risk homelessness. His parents instilled in him the importance of holding values and education. Ramos attended Bakersfield College and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from California State University Bakersfield. His prior experience includes forensic biology as a DNA analyst and healthcare administration as a project manager.
